With Speedwell Stabe, we wanted to create something inside that would go hand in hand with the rich green views that you get from walking out of Speedwell Stable’s door. The Stable features a lot of aspects of live edge wood to complement the theme.

The bedroom in Speedwell Stable features a stunning handmade bed. The bed is made from live edge wood and is a four poster. There is a matching wall rail for clothes hanging located on the wall. The bedroom also has a door that leads on to the patio with a picnic bench so guests can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air as soon as they wake up.

In the living area, Speedwell Stable is equipped with everything you would expect in a self catering living space. This includes a double corner sofa bed, kitchen area, HD catch up TV, Wi-Fi, storage space and breakfast bar.

The bathroom features a large shower with an overhead rain shower and hand held shower fitting. The sink unit is handmade and incorporates original slate roof tiles and tree designed sides and toilet.

All the internal doors within the Stable have been made from the reclaimed floor of an old Mill in Derby. The breakfast bar in Speedwell Stable is individually designed to complement the reclaimed timber doors and made from lived-edge, locally sourced timber and protected against inevitable breakfast spills. The breakfast bar is close to the stable door so guests can simply open half of the door to let in the fresh air whilst dining.

Speedwell Stable features stone floors throughout so maybe bring something to keep your toes warm, especially in winter

We’re very lucky to be so close to Castleton and many different attractions. Castleton has 6 fantastic pubs, an excellent restaurant and a number of café’s and tea rooms so if you didn’t fancy cooking (although all the utensils and appliances are there) you really don’t have to!

Speedwell Stable is an ideal romantic break for two although up to four can be accommodated with the sofa bed in the lounge.
