Hathersage – Open Air Swimming Pool and Little John’s Grave
Hathersage, one of the more interesting villages in the area, has links to Robin Hood through the grave of Little John, one of Robin’s trusty ‘Merry Men’. According to legend Little John, spent his last remaining days in Hathersage and dug his own grave under the old yew tree to the south of the church.
In more recent times, the David Mellor Cutlery Factory, Design Museum, Country Shop and Cafe have been built just outside Hathersage.
Hathersage outdoor heated swimming pool is open every year from March through to September. It offers open-air swimming amidst the glorious Peak District scenery, in water which is heated to 28°C. It has fully refurbished and covered changing facilities, toilets, hot showers and disabled access.
