Blue John Cavern, in Castleton, in the  Peak District is famous the world over for its deposits of the Blue John Stone, Britain’s rarest mineral. The Blue John Cavern is home to 8 of the 14 currently known veins of this beautiful mineral and is said to be the finest that can be seen by the general public in Western Europe. The cavern is well illuminated for those who may be concerned.

Facilities on site include a cafe (open at weekends) and a fabulous shop, where you can view some of the stunning Blue John jewellery and gifts available.
